Get Well Wishes!

Earlier this week Christian received the cutest get well/happy birthday package from all of his nieces and nephews. It is funny how no matter how old we get, real mail (not coupons, ads, credit card offers, etc.) is still so exciting! Thanks Easton family!!

We're Handicap for the Parking

In true tourist style.
The closest I'm ever gonna get:)
Only the start of our endless food day.
To take full advantage of Christian's handicap state we went to Universal Studios over the weekend. Let's just say the lines are much shorter when you go through the handicap entrance. We also bought "unlimited food" wristbands. They seemed like a good idea at the time, but after sitting down for our our 5th meal I'm not so sure.

Smores!

Christian literally hopped around the fire trying to not burn the Jiffy Pop.
Apparently not enough hopping.

After misplacing keys, clothes, food, etc. we finally made it (crutches and all) to a bonfire with some friends at Dockweiler Beach. We were finally able to use the stack of Hershey bars that were leftover favors from Doug's wedding in August...still nicely adorned by the extra paper sleeve featuring a picture of the happy could and some message about the "Recipe for Love"...precious!

Happy Mother's Day

We spent the weekend down in Manhattan Beach visiting my mom and grandma. After a yummy brunch we went on a long walk at the beach. I never thought I'd need to use my grandma's old wheel chair, but it has come in handy quite a bit latley.
Free Throttle giveaway at the pier...as if we need more caffeine in our house.

The family...my Mom, Grandma Shizue and Grandpa John!

Shopping in Style

As I mentioned earlier, Christian has been so excited to drive those motorized carts around the grocery store. So, despite being terribly sick from the anesthesia (and nearly vomiting on the 405), Christian insisted on going shopping with me. I was nearly crying because I was laughing so hard. I'm sure I got a couple dirty looks as I laughed and took pictures of my poor disabled husband!

Cruising Costco..I promise the poor sad face is just an act. The bare necessities! Perusing through the meat isle at Vons

Sponge Baths and Vicodin

All I had was my phone for pictures...
Renee helped us to the car.
Christian had to eat ice chips before he could leave and he kept
asking the nurse it they used Evian water to make the chips.

The white box is a catheter that pumps pain
medicine directly into his joint.

Christian's knee has been hurting since he fell while we were rollerblading in NY...or in-line skating as he likes to call it (as if that makes it more manly). He finally went to the Dr. and found out that he would need to undergo a small surgery to repair a meniscus tear. However, once the Dr. got inside his knee he found that Christian's ACL was also torn...which means the recovery changed from 6 weeks to more than 6 months. The only thing he's excited about is renting one of those motorized shopping carts at Costco:)

Make that a Triple!

The inevitable line...
but worth the wait!
More satisfied customers!

You'd think that since BOTH of us worked at Baskin Robbins at one time we'd have had our fill of of their ice-cream. Obviously not...or at least not on .31 cent scoop night!
