Cycling for a Cure

Our good friends Annie (Lowe) & Scott Green's son Nate was recently diagnosed with SMARD (Spinal Muscular Atrophy with Respiratory Distress Type 1). It is life-threatening disease that is caused by a gene mutation. It also causes weak muscles and severe respiratory problems. Nate is bright and happy, but has no use of his legs which makes it very difficult to explore the world.

Nate needs a power wheelchair and wheelchair accessible van to help him leave the house. To help we organized a 40 mile bike ride to raise funds for Nate and SMARD research. The generosity and support from friends, neighbors, and complete strangers was overwhelming!

Pumpkin Patch

We went with the Picketts to a pumpkin patch nearby. Brady was in heaven. He rolled in hay, picked out a pumpkin (with my help), road the train, and bounced in the jump house. It was adorable.
