father's day weekend

We spent all day Saturday at the beach with friends. Christian surfed and Brady was in heaven rolling around in the water and sand for hours! On Father's Day I had to be to church early so I quickly made Christian and I some breakfast before running out the door and leaving him with the baby to get ready and a messy kitchen. Being the awesome guy he is, he didn't even say a word, and cleaned everything before meeting me at church. That evening we had some friends over for dinner. It was some of Christian's best friends so he was all about celebrating with them. Such a simple, but great kick off to many great Father's Days to come!

Christian turned 30! I still can hardly believe it! Before his family left on vacation we had a family dinner celebration at our house. Between changing the date at the last minute because of weather, running out of propane and one fussy baby it wasn't exactly a relaxing day for Christian (he ended up helping me quite a bit), but I'm glad we were able to get all the family together! Joyce and Candice were even able to come! His family showered him with presents, including an ipad which was a  special 30th birthday gift from Chris & Cindy, babysitting from Hannah, haircuts from Heather, biking pants from Doug and Cassie, and a new biking bib from my parents. I got him a new biking jacket and bike rack for his car which Doug helped me install the night before his actual birthday!

His birthday fell on a Friday so I surprised him with a short weekend trip to Monterey when he got home from work. We had beautiful weather, toured around the town, laid by the pool, and ate way too much food! Happy 30thChristian!! We love you!

Doug and Cassie also gave Brady an early birthday present which will be great for the beach!

Brady Steps

I don't know why the videos work for about 30 seconds and then become unavailable. Regardless, since I consider this blog a backup to a lot of our pictures, I also uploaded the videos to youtube. The links are below.

Just a couple days before turning 11 months old, Brady's took his first steps! They were the teeniest and tiniest steps ever, but as cute as can be. Christian came home for a quick lunch and walked in right as Brady decided to debut his new trick.

Brady clearly didn't get dressed up for the big event. This is the second time he "walked". After the first couple steps I ran and grabbed my phone.

Cousins

It is hard to believe that if we had taken this picture less than 2 years ago the couch would've been empty! Love every bit of them!
